KATHERINE Camels forward Aaron Moules is proof of the amount of quality players who can go largely unnoticed in the Big Rivers Football League.

The 27-year-old was one of the best on ground in his team’s 36-point win over Ngukurr Bulldogs in Round 9 action on Saturday night, kicking two goals.

Moules has plenty of quality experience under his belt, and is a former A-grade representative for Victor Harbor in the Great Southern Football League SA competition.

Like his future football plans, Moules was modest when talking about his performance on Saturday night.

Nightcliff Tigers young gun Joel Budarick believes he can continue to improve in 2020-21 NTFL comp

Past Geelong Falcons player in the TAC Cup, Joshua Carlin, indicates he could play for Waratah in the 2020-21 NTFL Premier League

“I only kicked two. One was a crumbing goal and one was a snap,” he told the NT News.

“It’s not normally how I get them.

“That’s because we’ve got three or four big talls, and our crumbing forwards and mids do a great job.

“So we’ve got a good balance between us, particularly if we’re not marking the ball.

“After halftime I think all the boys just played their roles.

“Knowing we played more of a structured season of footy last year helped us.”

When asked if he was thinking of winding back the clock and playing in the NTFL once again in the 2020-21 season, Moules said it was only a slight possibility.

“I went up and had a game three years ago under Michael McLean (at Waratah),” he said.

“With my two little girls it just gets a bit hard, but maybe if the opportunity presents itself.”

Moules preferred to speak more glowingly of his teammates, who are on track to win a second consecutive BRFL flag.

The Camels are undefeated after seven games, with Daniel Allan, Josh Carlin, star Nighcliff youngster Joel Budarick, Jesse Bettison and Dylan Wareham among the other standouts against the Bulldogs.

“You’ve always got to have a lot of belief, and with confidence a side can always do a lot,” Moules said.

“I think the boys are always going to have a lot of belief.

“We can’t doubt ourselves because that’s when you get run over.”
