Proud parents John and Vicki Hewett had travelled all the way from Port Augusta to watch their superstar daughter play in the 2022-23 NTFL grand final.
The pair joined thousands of footy fans from across the country at TIO Stadium for an enthralling day of Top End footy finals.
It came a week after the pair were watching the prelim final live score in anticipation as PINT pulled off an inspirational comeback against St Mary’s to claim a shot at the premiership.
But with their daughter and AFLW premiership player Jasmyn Hewett playing they couldn’t help but make the trip for the big dance.
“Can’t describe how proud we are, when it’s one of your own kids playing in these games it’s unbelievable,” John said.
“We were watching the live score wondering if they would get there, and that goal was kicked in the last ten minutes and we saw it was her. She’s a great team motivator.”
The pair have visited the Top End several times and love coming along to the footy, as they did
“We love coming to Darwin, there’s so many people who come out for it,” Vicki said.
“We’ve come here several times and it’s just different to other places, it just seems to have a better atmosphere when you come to the footy here.”
PINT weren’t the only side with fans on the NTFL’s big day with the colours of Waratah, St Mary’s and Southern Districts, among others, covering the stadium.

Waratah’s red army ready for the NTFL grand final weekend
A wave of red and white will flood into TIO Stadium to support their four Waratah squads competing in grand finals.
The Gardens Oval-based club will be represented in the Men’s Premier League, Women’s Premier League, Men’s Premier Reserves and Under-18’s grand finals.
The supporters are hopeful of bringing all four premierships home, particularly the Men’s premier grade, which they last won 23 years ago.
Waratah president Rohan Langworthy was ecstatic to have so many teams competing in grand finals over the weekend.

“It’s a huge excitement to have this many sides in a grand final, building the culture is something we’ve really worked on over the past few years,” Langworthy said.
“It sort of seems a little unbelievable that we are now in this position, but if you look at the work done behind the scenes it’s clear to see why we’re finding success on the field.
“If we get one win it will be amazing, and if we get more one and we get that four it will be absolutely incredible.”
There will also be decorations aplenty with kids called in to prepare streamers and banners in Waratah colours on Thursday afternoon.
“It’s going to be insane, we had a really good crowd turnout last year, and to have four teams now is just going to take it to another level,” Langworthy said.
“We’ve had a lot of past players, parents, sponsors and supporters coming down and getting around these players, which is a really good feeling.
“And also the kids, their number has grown throughout the year, so we’ll have a wide ranging of past players and little tuckers running around.
“Hopefully we’ll win the war of the crowds and then we’ll win the games.”
