DEAR sponsors, players, coaches, volunteers, parents and supporters,
I am writing to you all with a heavy heart, our club has never been under such pressure for off field issues as witnessed this week. While the latest issue relates to the fly-in by-laws in Men’s Premier League, I must remind everyone that we have had a number of issues this season to deal with as a club.
We made a mistake, we owned it and it’s time to move on and not focus what others may have done.
We need to concentrate on our own backyard which has some significant issues for us to fix in the coming weeks and months.
It is a timely reminder of what our valuable volunteers have to do every week, make sure they are abiding by the rules of each team and grade.
There is a lot of pressure and mistakes can happen.
The club will be there to support our volunteers through these tough times.
I cannot stress enough the importance today that everyone involved with our club stand up and play a leadership role in focusing on the game and nothing else.
Our reputation locally and nationwide has not been earnt by simply laying down when times get tough.
We are the envy of many other clubs and with that comes pressure to perform.
Success comes first from hard work, togetherness and leadership.
I wish all our teams who are still in the finals the very best of luck, may the stars align for each of you to be successful, but in true SMFC style, be humble in winning and humble in defeat.
Thank you all in advance for stepping up when SMFC needs it.
We are a proud club and need to answer our critics on the field where it counts with our approach regardless of whether others want to drag us down.
See you at the footy.
Adrian Moscheni,
President.
