Queenslander Chloe Litherland will help usher in a new era for netball in Australia as she leads Tasmania Wild into battle in an expended Super Netball Reserves finals.
The Wild will open up a massive week of finals action when they clash with the Capital Darters in the SSN Reserves finals play-in tournament on Monday.
The play-in tournament, which features the Wild, Darters and Territory Storm will be played across three days with every match exclusively live streamed on Code Sports and KommunityTV.
Check out the draw below and watch the action live in the video payer above.
The tournament will act as a lead-in to the SSN Reserves finals series this weekend, with the results of the matches having a bearing on the weekend’s action.
Litherland is among a heavy contingent of interstate raiders among the state sides competing at the tournament after joining the Kingston Blues in the TNL this season.
The Wild skipper relished the opportunity to be part of the tournament as she believed the exposure to the high standards of Super Netball would only benefit a Tasmanian side which has relied heavily on an emerging group of teen talents.
The Capital Darters, who the Wild will clash with in Monday’s opener, also feature a couple of interstate talents with Brisbane North Cougars shooter Nalani Makunde pulling on the pink of her home state.
Makunde isn’t the only former ACT athlete who will return from interstate leagues with Jacoba Clough (Tango, Netball SA), Milla Papallo (UTS Randwick Sparks, NSW), Olivia Clark (South West Mounties Magic, NSW), Eliza Bruton (North Shore United, NSW) and Jasmine Fraser (Western Warriors, VIC) among the squad.
For the Territory Storm, midcourt rising stars Mackenzie Lynch and Taylah Easton have been brought up from the state’s Under-19 ranks for the tournament.
The Territory Storm also possess a couple of interstate players including Perth-based Australian Black Swans representative stars Jamaica Jauncey and Tierrah Miller.
