The Nightcliff women kept themselves in the fight for a finals double chance after a dominant, if inaccurate, performance against the Palmerston Magpies.
Out at a swampy Cazalys oval, it was a contest that saw neither outfit take a backwards step, with the Tigers clawing their way to a 7.13 (55) to 1.0 (6) win.

Nightcliff got on the scoresheet early, courtesy of Natasha Tile who slotted it down the middle.
They would become their own worst enemies as the game went on however, with a multitude of wayward shots and missed kicks limiting the overall damage on the scoreboard.
Nightcliff’s Maighan Fogas was an absolute menace all game long, with the ever solid tandem of Sophie Hatzismalis and Hannah Turnbull a brilliant supporting cast.
For the Pies’, their captain Tatayna Perry, alongside fellow backs Hannah Torsney and Jessica Fatnowna were immense at halting Nightcliff’s forward pressure.
Tigers’ Fogas, the most detructive player all game, said her team needed a physical matchup after their 136 point win over Wanderers last weekend.
“Coming off the midseason break and playing the Wanderers first up, we really needed this game to get ourselves back into the feel and groove of the contest,” she said.
“So coming off a lull last outing, it was nice to get into a fight that is what you get in the finals.
“I’m hoping that this game will let us keep on building and act as a bit of a reset ahead of the next round.
“I think this performance was a bit better than some others as coming off of the break, we haven’t had the healthiest list, and leading into Christmas we had some big outs and a lot of illness, so we’ve had a lot of shuffling around, and I think that we’re back and stronger than ever and ready for a finals push.”

Preview
The double chance for Nightcliff, finals ambitions for Palmerston .... this is a match with plenty of significance.
And the NT News and KommunityTV will be there to stream all the action from 5pm on Saturday.
Nightcliff enjoyed a big game back from the break against the winless Wanderers, but know they will have to keep pushing if they want to jump from fourth to third.
Captain Hannah Turnbull has been a standout for the side all season, holding down the defensive end alongside the likes of Sophie Hatzismalis.
There’s plenty of attacking power in this side, too, as proven last week with Cassie McWilliam, Mickayla Ward and Chloe Jacobs all kicking four goals each.
Offensive prowess isn’t something Palmerston have lacked this season, with livewire Marika Carlton able to create something whenever she gets her hands on the ball.
Tatyana Perry and Natasha Medbury are other standouts in this outfit, and will be among those eager to overturn the damage done by their loss to Tiwi last week on their route to finals.
Full replays of the match will be posted here following the end of the game.
The NT News and AFL Northern Territory have come together in a partnership to live stream both the men’s and women’s Premier League games for this TIO NTFL season.
