Reigning premiers PINT have dominated against Southern Districts in the scorching midday sun to mark a major milestone for one of their club greats.

Despite the intense heat, the Queenants put on a clinic as they celebrated two-time premiership-winning captain Cassie Henderson’s 150th game.

And they did everything they needed to in order to take the Round 4 encounter, thumping the Crocs 19.21 (135) to 1.1 (7) at TIO Stadium.

PINT hit their straps straight away, moving the ball quickly out of the midfield through Reni Hicks and Amy Chittick.

It was a goal feast for the PINT forwards, with Steph Lawrence kicking seven, including an exciting over-the-shoulder effort.

Crocs did have their chances early, scoring a goal through Hollie Harvey to ensure they wouldn’t go scoreless, but a behind later in the quarter would be their only addition.

The Queenants didn’t ease up and were full of cheers when Henderson got her seventh goal in the final quarter.

It means unbeaten PINT remain one of the leading contenders in the 2023-24 season.

The PINT women are hoping to keep their unbeaten run alive when they come up against a Southern Districts side with a point to prove.

The premiers saw off their grand final rivals, Waratah, last week to stay unbeaten after three rounds of competition, and won’t be taking their foot off the gas.

And while the usual performers in the forward line once again fired against Tahs, their smothering defence was equally as impressive.

Which means Southern Districts are in for a tough match.

Scoring points has been a major problem for the Crocs and they will be looking for vast improvement on last week’s defeat to St Mary’s.
