2025 SFL Community League live stream: Dodges Ferry v New Norfolk, Round 14

Dodges Ferry is intent on responding from a horror last start loss to fellow finals bound outfit Cygnet, but the Sharks know they face a challenge in New Norfolk. Watch it LIVE here on Saturday.

Dodges Ferry coach Jess Tegg isn’t reading too much into his side’s biggest loss of the season as they look to turn their attention to a young side on the rise this Saturday.

The Sharks sat second heading into round 13 before a 62-point loss to ladder leaders Cygnet in wet and wild conditions last week saw them slip to fourth.

Now, the Sharks will host New Norfolk and will look to get back on the winners list as they chase a top-two spot.

You can catch the action between Dodges Ferry and New Norfolk live on KommunityTV from 2pm.

The women’s clash will also be streamed from 12pm.

“We struggled with that (the weather), the amount of water on there (Kermandie) probably took us away from the way we wanted to play,” Tegg said.

“We had a bit of a look at it, there was some stuff that didn’t sit real well with me that we didn’t execute, we had a quick look at it last night (Tuesday) and we will move on.

“But we are not going to dwell on it three weeks out from finals, we need to move on and get cracking.

“We have three games to go, so it’s pretty important we lock those three away and get that double chance.”

Despite the loss, Tegg is pretty happy with how his team has performed this year but accepts there is still a lot to learn.

“The group grew a lot last year and this year we have taken some massive steps,” Tegg said.

“Still a long way to go, as you see from the weekend, the difference between our best and our worst, that gap is probably still too big.

“But with a young group, it’s pretty exciting, so I’m looking forward to finals.

“Playing New Norfolk, who are a proud footy club, they are going to come out and have a crack as they usually do, so we just have to make sure that we are on from the start and play our brand of footy.”

While finals out of the picture for New Norfolk, Ben Lovell said there are still plenty of exciting times ahead for his side.

“They (Sharks) are a pretty good side, they gave us a touch up last time, and they are coming into finals so they will want to get some good form heading into September,” Lovell said.

“But it’s a good challenge for us as a young side who are looking to finish off the year on a positive.

“We just want to try and get some more game time into the young blokes and build for next season now.

“We got all our young blokes signed (for next year), pretty much secured the young blokes who have played this year, Josh Farrow is coaching again next year which is a massive positive for the club itself.”
