IHTSAHYMN’s has won its second consecutive Darwin Cup.

It’s run to Darwin Cup glory was the talk of the town in 2019 after the Group One winner stormed to a take Territory racing’s biggest prize.

The win came despite trainer Rob Gulberti’s doubts his horse could repeat its success again this year.

The victory came in front of a 7500-strong crowd at Darwin Turf Club.

“I’m not overly confident as he’s lacking that extra run we wanted and he’s a year older now with some good, young horses in that field,” Gulberti told the NT News.

A lack of runs coming into the big event due to bruised feet may have left last editions’s winner underdone.

But a gallant first-up second behind fellow favourite Savatoxl from the Gary Clarke stable in the Metric Mile will have lifted Gulberti’s confidence.
