Federal FC’s Celine Ankers is leading the charge as she does her part to raise funds for world-class cancer research, prevention programs and support services.

For a third year in a row, Ankers is participating in the month long 150km fitness challenge as she seeks to raise $1k in donations for Cancer Council’s The March Charge.

Already at $700, the Alice Springs local has raised a combined $4,239 in total.

“This year in Australia an estimated 162,000 people will hear the words ‘you have cancer’, I’m doing my part to change this by getting active and fundraising for people impacted by cancer,” the post read on Ankers' page.

“Every dollar raised will help support Cancer Council’s lifesaving cancer research, prevention programs and support services (like their free, confidential Information and Support line 13 11 20) for people affected by cancer.

“Let’s tell cancer where to go!”

Per her page, Ankers has already raised enough funds in five days to provide 25 kids with a SunSmart education, 17 phone calls to trained cancer professionals and five days of a PHD student’s research.

So far, Ankers’ has completed 37km of her 150km goal with 20 days to go.
