The Red Tails Pink Tails Right Track program has pulled off a major triumph after securing a mammoth grant from the government.

The Territory Labor Government will provide $600,000 over the next three years to fund the Red Tails Pink Tails Right Track program in Alice Springs.

A program that helps NT youth get ‘work ready’ participation in footy, the grant will continue to provide ‘life changing’ opportunities for Central Australians.

This funding will be used by the program to continue to provide employment support initiatives including work experience, employment pathways and mentoring.

The program provides a footy program five days a week in Alice Springs, and focuses on building strong physical, social and emotional skills for participants.

“The Red Tails Pink Tails Right Tracks program epitomises the spirit of community empowerment and resilience,” Sports Minister Kate Worden said.

“By investing in this program, we are reaffirming our commitment to nurturing healthier, more vibrant communities across the Northern Territory.

“Our investment is not just about supporting sport, but providing an avenue for these aspiring athletes to enter the workforce.

“By empowering individuals through programs like Red Tails Pink Tails Right Tracks Program, we are building a stronger, more resilient Northern Territory.”

Rob Clarke, coach of the Central Australian football Club, voiced his support for the funding, explaining the importance of such initiatives in Central Australia.

“This funding allows us to expand our reach and achieve our collective commitment to making a real difference in the lives of young people in Central Australia,” he said.

“Through this program, we have seen first-hand the transformative power of sport in empowering individuals, instilling leadership qualities, and fostering community engagement.

“It’s truly heartening to witness some of these young individuals pursue brighter futures.

“With this new funding, we’re not just investing in athletes, but in the future leaders and role models of our communities.”
