Expanded Strike League tournament to give major hospitality boost to the Top End

The expanded Strike League tournament, part of the NT’s Cricket 365 series, will provide a major boost to the Top End’s hospitality industry.

THE expanded Strike League tournament, part of the NT’s Cricket 365 series, will provide a major boost to the Top End’s hospitality industry expected to fill over 2000 hotel rooms.

This year’s Strike League tournament will feature some of the best emerging Australian talent with Big Bash sides Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars joining the contest.

And in a further boost, NT Cricket has teamed up with Chamber of Commerce NT.

The Territory’s largest employer becoming a naming rights partner of the Chamber NT Top End Series between Northern Territory Strike and Cricket Australia XI.

The Chamber NT Top End Series sees rep cricket return to the NT in a big way with NT Strike looking to do Territorians proud against a side with some of Australia’s best young talent.

The three-match series will be played as a 50-over format with game one to be held at the iconic Gardens Oval on Sunday August 1, followed by two day/night fixtures at DXC Arena on Wednesday, August 4 and Sunday, August 8.

NT Cricket chief executive Joel Morrison said that working with Chamber of Commerce NT would help leverage the economic benefits of Cricket 365.

“Our partnership with Chamber of Commerce NT is a further demonstration that the benefits of Cricket 365 aren’t limited to on the field,” he said.

“The 10-week Cricket 365 program involving players and teams from around Australia will generate over 2000 bed nights alone this dry season.

“Partnering with organisations in the business of growing the north such as Chamber of Commerce NT helps us to maximise the economic benefits Cricket 365 brings to the Territory off the field.”
