The best up-and-coming talent from across the Territory has been selected to take on the under-19 national championships.
Australian under-19 representative Tom Menzies will captain the side, after featuring in the recent series in England where he shined as the youngest member of the squad.
He will be joined by experienced campaigners at this level Zayden Lewis and Charlie Kemp, while there’s plenty of first timers including Waratah’s Clancy McCormick.
The Territory team will be supported by a few interstaters including NSW wicketkeeper Dhanvi Vemulalapalli alongside bowling talents Everett Oxenham and Joel Wright.
Victorian top order bat Aiman Nadeem is another to join the fold alongside leg spinner Arjun Seharwat to compliment the talented side.
Head coach Udara Weerasinghe said he was enthusiastic for the upcoming tournament and encouraged the team to embrace the opportunity to show off their talent on the national stage.
“I’m encouraging the team to approach challenges as learning experiences,” he said.
“And understand the importance of enjoying the tournament while proudly representing the Northern Territory.
“There will be some exceptional cricketers and very strong sides in the tournament but we also have some exceptional cricketers and we have the belief in ourselves to be competitive.”
