THE 2021 Darwin and Districts Cricket Competition eight-team T20 league will see games played across DXC Arena at Marrara, Gardens Oval and Cazalys Arena on Thursday evenings, commencing this week.
The Darwin Cricket Management Committee (DCMC) is thrilled to see T20 cricket return to the competition in 2021, following the success of the CDU Top End T20 carnival, which launched last year’s season as a consequence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

DCMC chair Lachlan Baird said this was a great opportunity for the Darwin cricket community to take a big step forward.
“We have seen the wonderful and unique opportunities afforded by lights to players in our A and B-grade competitions with the introduction of day-night cricket in a number of fixtures in 2021,” he said.
“The DCMC is particularly excited about seeing high-level competitive cricket on Thursday evenings at Gardens Oval at the same time as the Mindil Beach markets.
“And with top level cricket just across the road, the DCMC looks forward to welcoming new and returning spectators to our game.
“Thanks must go to the efforts of the City of Darwin in working with the competition and community in midweek light trials and the wonderful team at NT Cricket for allowing this huge leap forward for our competition.”
