The joint player of last summer’s Marsh One-Day Cup now has 11 wickets for the Blaze, including the one-dayers.
Gold Coast star Hugo Burdon is also having a fine dry season, smashing 52 not out from 46 balls to help Blaze chase down its 127-run target with a comfortable 21 deliveries remaining.
“It was good. A little three-week break and I was allowed to freshen up and work on a few things in my T20 game,” said Burdon, who made 106 not out from 107 against Northern Tide on July 4.
“And it came out today.
“Hopefully I displayed a few of those skills, so I’m pretty happy.”
Burdon has been playing plenty of golf and enjoying idyllic Top End conditions during his time in the Territory.
“How bad I’ve been going on the golf course has been a bit of motivation to go a bit better with my cricket,” he said with a laugh.
“Usually when I do bad at golf I do good at cricket, and when I do bad at cricket I do good at golf, so I’ll just keep stinking it up on the golf course.
“(But I’m) learning from a few of the older boys like Chris Tremain and a few of the others, especially how you start at six o’clock.
“I did a few things and went to sleep at two o’clock, and came back out and did it again.” Live streaming of all Strike League games HERE
