City v Country rugby: Twins Odesza, Alaianne Toia in a league of their own when it comes to footy

When it comes to their love of playing football - whether it be rugby union or league - these Sydney twins are in a league of their own.

When it comes to playing footy there’s few keener than Western Sydney Two Blues junior rep sisters Alaianne and Odesza Toia.

The Rouse Hill high schoolgirls love both rugby union and rugby league and playing with and against both boys and girls.

This weekend their love of footy takes them to Bathurst as part of the Under 16 girls side tackling their Country counterparts with older sister Maraea also in the car as part of the U18 girls City team. PREVIEW, SQUADS HERE

“That’s how we got into it. Our big sister played and you always want to do what they do,’’ said Odesza.

“We also have twin power. We just like playing with each other.’’

The sisters have played with and against boys for the Norwest Bulls junior rugby union club for the last six years, the Two Blues junior rep side and also dabble in sevens.

They are also keen on pursuing a career in the NRLW down the track and according to mum Charly will be development players with the Parramatta Eels and play Tarsha Gale in 2023.

Both agree playing the boys has been good for their football.

“We've always played with the boys, it’s just normal for us,’’ Alaianne said.

“It has toughened us up.’’

“All the kids play and they love it, It keeps them occupied,’’ mum Charly said.
