CRICKET 365 makes its return this weekend following a week’s hiatus due to the Darwin Covid lockdown.

Postponed matches from round two of the TIO Men’s Strike League one day series will be played on Saturday with Southern Storm facing Desert Blaze at Cazalys Arena and Northern Tide taking on City Cyclones at DXC Arena.

Attention then turns to round three action on Sunday where the City Cyclones will face Southern Storm at Cazalys Arena while Northern Tide take on Desert Blaze in a day/night fixture at DXC Arena.

All matches will be played in accordance the directives issued earlier today by the NT Government and Chief Health Officer following the lifting of the lockdown.

Crowds at each match will be capped at 500 people with all patrons required to bring a face mask for instances where socially distancing may not be possible.

NT Cricket chief executive Joel Morrison encouraged people to adhere to the restrictions that remain in place.

“It’s great to have cricket back in action this weekend and we’d like to acknowledge the work undertaken to keep the community safe,” Morrison said.

“We understand it is a privilege to get back on the field this weekend and we encourage everyone to keep playing their part by following the restrictions that remain in place.

“Cricket will look and feel a little different this weekend but it’s important that we all do what is necessary to keep the community safe.”
