In one of the more obvious statements of the night: Noah Anderson is genuine A-Grader.
The star Sun filled up with 41 disposals, 15 score involvements and two goals in a massive night.
Anderson’s dominance was on show in the passage of play that led to his second goal, where he got the footy two times before finishing on the run.
Only 3.7 per cent of coaches own Anderson this round, which makes him a huge point of difference with 148 points.
PERSISTENCE PAYS OFF
The SuperCoaches that held onto — or traded back in — Alex Sexton are celebrating the rewards tonight.
Roaming across half back, Sexton gathered 118 SuperCoach points.
He is owned by 27 per cent of SuperCoaches and had a break even of -2 coming into this game.
Sexton was a staple to most SuperCoaches prior to the season but was traded out of many sides after being dropped in the early rounds.
A VETERAN ROOKIE?
Is there such thing as a 221-game rookie?
SuperCoach expert Al Paton pointed out that there’s worse options for SuperCoaches looking for a cheap buy than experienced Sun David Swallow.
Swallow was one of the three Suns to finish in the 90s with 98 SuperCoach points tonight and he costs just $167,800.
If anyone is going to benefit from a midfield lighting it up, it’s the fifth or sixth option in there.

10:26: FT — SUNS SCORCH CATS
Gold Coast has rewritten a huge portion of its history books in a stunning performance against Geelong.
The Suns kicked an impressive 26 goals in the humid conditions at TIO Stadium, Darwin.
Jack Lukosius and Bailey Humphrey kicked five goals while Ben King booted four.
Midfielders Noah Anderson and Matt Rowell went nuclear with two massive outings.
Seven suns finished over 100 SuperCoach points while a further three finished in the 90s.
It’s the sixth consecutive win for the Suns at TIO Stadium.
North Melbourne champion David King called it “a fill up” for the Suns in the post-game.
10:20: THE GOALS CONTINUE
While Gold Coast has piled on the goals, Geelong has fired plenty of shots itself.
The Suns have kicked 25 and the Cats now have 14.
The players are off their feet under the humid conditions up north.
10:10: A SUNS STATEMENT
Ben King has joined Bailey Humphrey and Jack Lukosius with four goals in a stunning display from the Gold Coast Suns.
The Suns score of 145 is the highest score of any side this year, and there’s still 10 minutes left.
Another goal would have the Suns score 150 for the first time in their history.
The Suns have six players already over 100 SuperCoach points and a further four in the 90s.

AFL superstar Cyril Rioli has been spotted in the TIO Stadium crowd.
The four-time premiership champion was amongst a group of kids who were celebrating their appearance on the big screen.
Rioli played 189 exciting games for Hawthorn across 2008-2018.

9:57: RECORDS TUMBLE
Records are falling by the minute for the Suns, but the large score from the hosts is the first time Geelong has conceded 20 goals since the 2017 preliminary final.
Chris Scott has only had three 20-goal hauls conceded against him in his 14-season tenure at the Cats.
The Suns are well on their way to their biggest win against Geelong.
9:45: 3QT — SUNS STARE DOWN 10 TONS
Gold Coast is poised to finish with nearly 10 players on more than 100 SuperCoach points.
The Suns ran amok during that third term and currently have 10 players within 25 points of a SuperCoach century.
Nine goals that third quarter resulted in the Suns rocketing out to a 66-point three-quarter time buffer.
Jack Lukosius made the hot start with three early goals but midfielders Matt Rowell, Noah Anderson and Sam Flanders have taken command of a sluggish Geelong engine room.
9:32: CATS MAKE SUB
Geelong is looking to sub Jhye Clark to add a spark, injecting the first-year player into the match at the expense of veteran Cam Guthrie.
The Suns are running riot, with four players closing in on SuperCoach centuries with seven minutes left in the third quarter.
9:22: SUNS INFLICT MORE PAIN
Gold Coast has inflicted more pain on Geelong by adding to its exploding lead.
The Suns now lead the Cats by 46 points.
Sam Day has kicked his third goal while the Suns have nine individual goal kickers.
Noah Anderson has surged to the front of the SuperCoach pack with 89 points.
9:07: SPECTATOR MAKES CONTACT WITH CAT
A spectator at TIO Stadium has invaded the field of play and made contact with Geelong defender Jake Kolodjashnij.
It happened during the second quarter, as Gold Coast piled on six unanswered goals.
It follows an incident between a Collingwood supporter and West Coast Eagle Harvey Johnston last weekend.
The Collingwood supporter received a 12-month ban from attending AFL matches.
The supporter made it off the field of play but was grabbed by security once jumping back over the fence.
8:49: HT — SUNS STUN CATS IN SECOND-QUARTER BLITZ
Gold Coast put through six unanswered goals to spin a minor deficit into a 33-point half-time lead.
It’s the first time this season Geelong has conceded six goals in a row.
Jack Lukosius has three goals while Ben Long and Sam Day have kicked two.
Noah Anderson has 21 disposals while Matt Rowell has 20.
Mac Andrew and Ben Ainsworth went down into the rooms but emerged late in the quarter free from injury.
8:37: TWO SUNS GO DOWN
Mac Andrew and Ben Ainsworth are heading down into the rooms after a heavy collision in the middle of the ground.
With eyes for the ball, Andrew and Ainsworth collided mid-air.
Ainsworth left the field clutching below his eye while Andrew was hobbling with what looked to be an ankle complaint.
8:34: SUNS GO BANG
Gold Coast has kicked four goals in the blink of an eye to jump out to a 23-point lead.
Jack Lukosius hasn’t added to his tally of goals but has had three direct goal assists.
Sam Day has kicked two while Ben Long, David Swallow and Bailey Humphrey have looked dangerous inside 50.
Matt Rowell is starting to win a lot of the footy in the middle of the ground.
8:27: HUMPHREY’S TOP FINISH
Gold Coast Sun Bailey Humphrey has sprinkled his magic on the match with a superb second-quarter goal.
He gathered the ball and shrugged two Geelong players before snapping the Suns’ sixth goal.
His goal was quickly followed by another neat finish by David Swallow.
Jack Lukosius still leads all comers on the SuperCoach leaderboard with 64.
8:20: FIVE LEAD CHANGES
Geelong and Gold Coast have already swapped the lead five times in Darwin.
The largest lead of the match was the Suns’ eight-point lead early in the first quarter.
Despite the conditions, the two teams have combined for 69 points with 15 minutes of play left in the second quarter.
8:15: FLANDERS, ANDERSON RACK THEM UP
Sam Flanders and Noah Anderson have brought their own footy to TIO Stadium.
They each have 15 disposals just two minutes into the first quarter, leading next best by three disposals.
While they’re finding the footy, some messy disposals early in the game have both Flanders and Anderson making up ground on the SuperCoach front.
8:07: QT — CATS LEAD SUNS
Geelong’s ability to convert from its chances has it leading Gold Coast at the first change.
The Cats have kicked five straight to the Suns 4.3.
Jack Lukosius leads all comers in SuperCoach after his three early goals while Gryan Miers has lifted the Cats.
8:03: GRYAN GETS GOING
Geelong livewire Gryan Miers has sparked his side with a clean first term.
Miers has seven disposals and a goal, but what’s been the most impressive aspect has been his efficiency with the ball.
While others have found it difficult in the slippery conditions, Miers is going at 100 per cent disposal efficiency.
He leads the Cats for SuperCoach points.
7:53: LUKOSIUS AGAIN
Jack Lukosius’ love-affair with TIO Stadium is showing no signs of slowing down.
The star Sun has three first-quarter goals in an eye-popping start to Thursday night footy.
Only seven players have kicked five or more in a game in Darwin, and he’s the only one to do it twice.
With three opening-term majors, he’s on his way to bumping that number up.
Lukosius is on an impressive 53 SuperCoach points with six minutes left in the term.
7:50: THE LATE IN PUTS CATS IN FRONT
Geelong veteran Zach Tuohy has wasted no time in making his impact on the match felt.
Tuohy was the late replacement for defender Sam De Koning, who was ruled out with hamstring soreness.
The Cats’ dasher stormed into an open goal to kick the Cats’ third goal.
7:46: LONG NIGHT FOR BEN
Ben Long has been issued the difficult task of playing a defensive-forward role on Geelong star Tom Stewart.
Long’s role follows the successful tag Port Adelaide ran on Stewart last week.
The ex-Saint had a chance to get the early points over Stewart with a goal but sliced the kick to the skinny side.
7:43: LUKOSIUS MAKES FAST START
Jack Lukosius has kicked Gold Coast’s first two goals in a strong start in Darwin.
The versatile forward has now kicked 12 goals at TIO Stadium, which is just five behind Western Bulldogs’ champion Brad Johnson’s record of 17.
He leads the field with 31 SuperCoach points just six minutes in.
7:34: OH NO UMPY!
An off-the-screen umpire has had an early moment in Darwin after paying a free kick to GWS.
The closest umpire had to ask his colleague who the free kick was for before he realised it was the other expansion club in action.
Luckily for that umpire, Toby Conway’s turnover which led to Jack Lukosius kicking the Suns’ first quickly took the top blunder of the night.
6:55: ‘UNFAIR’ TO PLAY THEM SAYS DIMMA
Gold Coast Suns coach Damien Hardwick said it would have been “unfair” to play rising forward Jed Walter in another game in the Darwin conditions.
Walter was among several Suns’ changes, which also included veteran ruckman Jarrod Witts.
“The reality is he’s (Walter) 18 years of age,” Hardwick told Fox Footy pre game.
“If you had of asked him, he would’ve said last week was the hardest game of his life ... it’s unfair to ask them come up again.”
6:43: FINAL TEAMS, CATS SUFFER LATE CHANGE
Geelong defender Sam De Koning is a late out for the Cats ahead of Thursday’s clash against Gold Coast in Darwin.
De Koning, who was taken out with hamstring soreness, was replaced by Zach Tuohy.
Gold Coast had no late changes and will start Alex Davies as its sub.
Jhye Clark will be the Cats’ sub.
