Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera reaches out to Taylor Walker after reports racism drama would impact his contract decision

In-demand Saints star Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has refuted claims he won’t join Adelaide due to Taylor Walker’s 2021 racism scandal by making a personal call to the Crows forward.

St Kilda star defender Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera has reached out to Adelaide veteran Taylor Walker to make clear he has no personal problem with the former Crows’ captain.

Wanganeen-Milera, 22, phoned Walker on Tuesday night to quash claims he remained upset with the Adelaide forward over his involvement in a 2021 racism incident.

It was reported on Monday and Tuesday night on Channel 7 Wanganeen-Milera had ruled out Adelaide as a potential new home due to some lingering concerns over Walker’s incident with SANFL player Robbie Young.

But the Herald Sun has confirmed Wanganeen-Milera rang Walker and said the 2021 incident would not play any part in his contract decision.

Wanganeen-Milera told Walker the claims which were published were untrue.

Walker’s manager, Michael Doughty from TLA/TGI, said his client received a call from Wanganeen-Milera.

“Nasiah and Taylor have spoken and Nasiah has made really clear that he categorically refutes the allegations,” Doughty told the Herald Sun.

Walker himself confirmed the conversation with the in-demand Saint on Wednesday afternoon.

“Yes I have spoken to Ben Williams his manager and yes I have spoken to Nasiah and Nasiah pretty much is very aligned to what Ben Williams’ (said in his) statement,” Walker said on Triple M.

“He is in great form and obviously has a big decision to make on his personal contract situation.

“But he expressed he has no issue with me.”

It comes after Wanganeen-Milera’s manager, Ben Williams from Players’ Ink, said on Monday night the report about his client was “false”.

Wanganeen-Milera is one of the most sought-after players in the game and will weigh up blockbuster eight-year offers worth more than $1 million a season.

Walker was suspended for six matches and apologised for a deeply-offensive comment he made about Young at a SANFL game.
