Ex-Richmond forward Todd Elton is looking for love on TV after joining reality show

Former Richmond ruckman Shaun Hampson was a fan favourite on Survivor this year and now another ex-Tiger has landed a starring reality TV role, but this one is a lot saucier.

Ex-Richmond forward Todd Elton has joined a list of former Tigers to try their luck at reality television.

And he’s looking for love.

Elton, who played 10 games for Richmond from 2012-17, joined the cast of Love Island on Wednesday night.

“I’m Todd, I’m 26, from Melbourne and I’m an ex-AFL player,” Elton said upon his arrival.

“Girls are usually attracted to my height — I’m six foot five.”

The 26-year-old joins ex-teammate Shaun Hampson as Tigers to feature on reality TV this year after the ruckman was a fan favourite on Australia Survivor.

Michael Laffey, who played 26 VFL-AFL games for Richmond from 1987-90 was a contestant on The Mole in 2001 and was revealed at the end of the Australian version of the series to be the mole, committing 10 sabotages throughout the show.

Dan Foley is the other former Richmond player (13 games from 1983-85) to feature on reality TV, cast on The Block in 2016.

DUSTY’S CAR STILL AT THE ’G?

Dustin Martin’s car might still be underneath the MCG a month after Richmond’s famous Grand Final win.

The Herald Sun reported earlier this month Martin’s car remains at the ground and has been there since the last Saturday in September despite venturing on an overseas holiday.

Martin is back in Australia and attended former teammate Sam Lloyd’s wedding in Deniliquin over the weekend where it was revealed he paid a driver to drive him to the wedding and back instead of staying the night nearby with teammates.

Martin was due to play a game of golf with his Tigers teammates, including Jack Riewoldt, on Thursday and Riewoldt was unsure how the dual Norm Smith Medallist was going to get to the course.

“I’ll ask him today but I assume his car is still under the ‘G,” Riewoldt said on SEN. “I don’t know whether he’s picked it up or not.

“I actually don’t know how he is going to get to the golf course. No doubt he’ll swindle ‘Cotch’ into picking him up or something like that.

“He lives a different life to the rest of us. It’s very enjoyable for him.”
