AFL 2023: Collingwood star heads straight to Bali as players enjoy mid-season bye breaks

A key Collingwood star has wasted no time jetting to Bali in their off-season bye weekend.

But it’s not who you might think.

No, there’s no sign of Jordan De Goey at the beach clubs this time around, with his teammate Mason Cox the one living large in a villa on the Indonesian island just 24 hours after falling short of Melbourne on the King’s Birthday weekend.

As the Magpies prepare to enjoy the bye, Cox flew straight to Canggu, Bali, having ruffled a few feathers in a post-game confrontation with Demons counterpart Christian Petracca on Monday.

“No beef,” he wrote on Instagram in apparent reference to the clash, sipping a drink.

“Vegan diet here in Bali.”

One comment on his social media joked that just months after receiving Australian citizenship, Cox has “really turned into an Aussie now, goes on holidays straight to Bali”.

Petracca is also soaking up the rays, having told News Corp on Monday he was headed straight to Noosa from the MCG victory.

A crew of Collingwood players including Jack Ginnivan, Isaac Quaynor and Nathan Murphy are all enjoying Airlie Beach in the Whitsundays, Queensland.
