A WOMAN is in a “critical condition” at Royal Darwin Hospital this morning after being hit by a car outside a police station in Palmerston.

NT Police duty superintendent James O’Brien said about 7.30pm Monday a woman was struck by a car on Chung Wah Tce near the intersection on Fairway Dr.

“She is in a critical condition at Royal Darwin Hospital,” he said.

“Chung Wah Tce, University Ave and Temple Tce is blocked off this morning so Major Crash can investigate. Major Crash Investigations will be looking for other critical details.”

St John Ambulance operations manager Craig Garraway told ABC Darwin the woman had serious injuries.

“A lady was hit by a car outside the police station,” he said.

“She does have serious injuries and was transported by our paramedics and critical response unit to the Royal Darwin Hospital.”

It comes less than 24 hours after a 41-year-old woman was being thrown from a rolling car in Parap.

Mr Garraway said two people were taken to RDH after the crash, which happened about 8pm Sunday.

“It was a single vehicle rollover,” he said.

“One woman was ejected from the car as it rolled over.”

The NT News understands a 41-year-old man was driving the car, and failed to slow as he crossed from Stuart Hwy into Goyder Rd.
