Famous social media influencer Gracie Piscopo has addressed her partner being charged with murder for the first time since he was arrested last week with eight simple words.
Detectives charged Andre Zachary Rebelo, 26, with one count of murder on November 22 over the death of his mother Colleen Rebelo more than two years ago.
Police found her dead after being called to a home on Preston Point Road in Bicton, an affluent riverside suburb of Perth, just after 2.30pm on May 25, 2020.
An obituary for Ms Rebelo at the time said she was the “devoted and loving mother of Julian, Andre, Monique and Fabian”.
Ms Piscopo and Mr Rebelo, a cryptocurrency dealer, share a three-year-old son.
“I’m just focusing on my son right now,” Ms Piscopo told The West Australian, speaking publicly for the first time since her partner’s arrest.

The influencer, who has 1 million followers on Instagram, has wiped photos of Mr Rebelo from her account. She has done the same on TikTok and has also deleted her latest YouTube video with him, uploaded on September 1, where they were shown making dinner together and spending time with their son.
There is no suggestion Ms Piscopo had any involvement in Ms Rebelo’s death.
An Instagram account she previously tagged as her partner’s personal account is now dedicated to “asset mastery and investing” and has more than 60,000 followers.
Mr Rebelo is due to next appear in Stirling Gardens Magistrates’ Court on December 21.
Court documents show he has also been charged with five counts of forging a document with intent to defraud.
He has pleaded not guilty to those charges and is due to stand trial in the WA District Court in December next year.
According to The West Australian, the charges relate to his mother’s life insurance.
But Detective Sergeant Clinton Bragg would not go into “specifics” with those charges when questioned by reporters last Wednesday, the day after Mr Rebelo’s arrest.
He also would not confirm Ms Rebelo’s cause of death, but said the charges against her son marked the end of a “two-year investigation”.
“The investigation was a complex investigation,” he said. “It’s taken two years to get it to this point and it’s just an example of how we will not stop until we thoroughly investigate to bring these things to a conclusion.
“I’d like to praise the investigative team who were diligent and refused to stop in their efforts to bring this investigation to where we are today.”
He said the death was reported by a family member.
