More than a dozen of Australia’s biggest names have descended on the Red Centre for the party of a lifetime, helping one of the country’s iconic tourist destinations hit a milestone in style.
Celeste Barber, Beau and Kara Ryan, Courtney Roulston, Sofia Levin, Miah Madden, Marcia Leonne, and viral composer Bailey Pickles were all at Ayers Rock Resort’s 40th birthday celebrations, held over the weekend.
The star squad of TV, lifestyle, sporting and fashion personalities were treated to a culturally immersive itinerary, which saw them tour Uluru, go on sunrise walks, and witness Wintjiri Wiru – a drone show.
Construction for Ayers Rock Resort began in 1982, and was completed in 1984 with the opening of the Sheraton Hotel – now known as Sails in the Desert.
One year later, title deeds for Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park were handed back to the Anangu traditional owners.
