A popular fashion house beloved by Hollywood A-listers may have its Victorian stores placed into liquidation if the company fails to repay more than $50,000 in debt.

Documents filed in the Supreme Court earlier this month state the creditor’s request that a liquidator be appointed for the purposes of winding up insolvency.

Acne Studio failed to pay debts which totalled $50,197.50, according to court documents.

The company, which operates two locations around Melbourne and another two in Sydney, has been ordered to repay the sum within 21 days.

Liquidators will be appointed if Acne Studios Australia Pty Ltd fail to make payment.

The brand has a strong hold on the global fashion scene with stores throughout the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, China and South Korea.

A-listers Megan Fox, Kendall Jenner, Bella Hadid, Hailey Bieber and superstar Rihanna are notable fans of the label’s eye-catching items.

Acne’s Little Bourke St store relaunched in August this year following extensive renovations which doubled the site’s square-footage.

Founder Jonny Johansson has cultivated a brand known for its pricey items and bold patterns.

Customers can spend $320 on a turtleneck top or just under $600 for a pair of trousers.

The application will be heard in Supreme Court on December 14.
