A man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition with injuries to his arm and shoulder after a violent altercation allegedly took place on Ross River Rd.

A man has been rushed to hospital in a serious condition with injuries to his arm and shoulder after a violent altercation allegedly took place on Ross River Rd.

Police are investigating an unlawful wounding following an incident at Ross River Road, Mundingburra that took place shortly before 4.30pm on Sunday.

Police said an altercation between two men is believed to have taken place on the roadway leaving one with wounds to his arm and shoulder.

Paramedics, including critical care, transported the man to Townsville Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Police said the pair are known to each other.

A crime scene was established and investigations are ongoing.

Investigators urge anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to contact police.
