North Queensland Cowboys’ all-time try scorer Kyle Feldt has officially signed with St. Helens R.F.C in England on a two-year deal.

Making his debut with North Queensland in 2013, he’s played 213 games, scoring 146 tries and kicking 44 goals for a total points record of 672 for the NRL side so far.

The popular player will embark on a new challenge in the Betfred Super League in 2025 with the Saints, with the club saying Feldt would add “plenty of pace and finishing power to Paul Wellens’ outside backline”.

“I can’t wait, it’s a big change for me and my family and as soon as we caught wind that St. Helens wanted me to come over and join, and after talking to Wello (Head Coach Paul Wellens) and Rushy (CEO Mike Rush), it’s set in that we’ve made the right decision and we picked the right club,” Feldt told saintsrlfc.com.

“This feels like the right choice and the right decision, not only for me but for my family. I know I’m coming to a great club with a very rich history of great players with great a work ethic as well. I’m eager to get over and meet the lads at the end of the year!”

“It’s been my home all my life and I want to finish on a high. Playing in the finals this year is something that we’ve wanted to do and it would be good to finish the year strong, not only as a team but on a personal note as well.

“I’m excited to experience the UK fans, I know they really get right behind you, chant and sing songs when you’re going well.

“I’ve been a one-club man for so long and always want to give back to the fans and community I live in, and I’ve heard St. Helens is a close-knit community so I think I will fit in well.”

Feldt said he was looking forward to adding more highlights to his career and was “very eager to get silverware”.

“When I was on the phone to Wello he reaffirmed how the Club has an expectation of winning, and that’s something that got me across the line,” he said.

Head coach Wellens was “very excited” for Feldt to join the team from 2025.

“We are always looking to add quality to our squad and in Kyle we feel we have got exactly that, an experienced and very good player who no doubt will improve us as a team,” he said.

“You look for players who will perform well and will add to our group, after having discussions with Kyle I know that another part of his role will be working alongside our younger outside backs, helping them develop and Kyle’s comfortable doing that type of work, whilst coming to perform at his best and help the team be successful.”

Feldt will do a lap of honour at the end of Thursday night’s home game against the Melbourne Storm, with teammate Jake Granville doing a lap of honour before the game. The game kicks off at 7.50pm at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
