Multiple crashes and school holiday traffic have caused tens of kilometres of delays on the Gold Coast M1 with traffic at a crawl.
Emergency services were first called to a three-vehicle crash southbound on the Pacific Motorway near the Helensvale North off-ramp (exit 62) at 2.49pm on Friday.
A Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) spokeswoman said paramedics assessed a female patient in her 30s who was reported in a stable condition.
About 10 minutes later, a car and motorbike collided on the Pacific Motorway in the southbound lanes near Stapylton – paramedics were still responding to the incident.
The crashes have caused more than 34 kilometres of southbound delays from Nerang back to Eagleby. Heavy delays were also building northbound through Nerang, Gaven, Oxenford and Yatala.
Further congestion from school holiday traffic was impacting southbound motorists through Burleigh Heads.
