May 25: NT Police have arrested a 26-year-old woman who allegedly stabbed another woman with a pair of scissors.

Police responded to reports a woman had gone to a clinic in Jabiru after she was allegedly assaulted in the eye with a pair of scissors about 2.50pm Friday.

This prompted a police search with the alleged offender being found a short time later, at which point officers made an arrest.

Police believe the two women were known to each other, at this stage.

Police urge anyone who witnesses a crime to contact 131 444, or make an anonymous report through Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Vehicle catches fire in Lee Point

NT Police are calling for information after a vehicle was found on fire in Lee Point late on Friday night.

The Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received reports that a small red hatchback had caught alight about 8.50pm Friday.

The car was found in the carpark at Lee Point Reserve on Lee Point Road.

NT Fire and Rescue Service were able to extinguish the flames, but the vehicle was unsalvageable as a result of the fire.

Police urge witnesses, particularly those with CCTV or dash-cam footage, to make contact on 131 444, and quote NTP2400051498, or to anonymously call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Man allegedly attacked with edged weapon at Darwin bus stop

May 24: A man is recovering after he was allegedly attacked with an edged weapon in Darwin yesterday.

Around 3.30pm on Friday, police received reports of a disturbance at a bus stop on Parap Road, where a 28-year-old man had allegedly been assaulted with an edged weapon.

Police confirmed the victim was treated for his injuries.

Police did not confirm whether any arrests had been made in relation to the incident, but have called for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact police on 131 444 and quote reference P24140569.

Two taken to hospital as collision blocks major Darwin road

May 23: Members of the public have been blocked from travelling down McMillans Road for some time following a two vehicle collision.

The incident took place at the intersection of McMillans Rd and Links Rd just outside the Northlakes Shopping Centre in Marrara about 10.50am Thursday.

Multiple emergency vehicles, including a fire engine, were spotted at the scene extracting passengers trapped inside a red Mazda, while another vehicle came to a stop on the road median.

It’s understood two people were taken to hospital for assessment.

May 23: Five children have been arrested after they allegedly stole a vehicle.

Northern Watch Commander Justin Bentley said the group of 13-year-olds allegedly took the vehicle from a Parap address at 11.53pm Wednesday.

Sergeant Bentley said Strike Force Trident and the Dog Operations Unit pursued the boys and girls early on Thursday morning.

He said the vehicle was spiked on Vanderlin Drive, where the group was arrested.

Sergeant Bentley said the group had not yet been charged as of 6am Thursday.

He said the car would be returned to its owners soon, who were aware of the alleged theft.
