A thieving cyclist has been captured on CCTV throwing an elderly woman down onto the footpath, before turning back around and robbing her.
The footage was taken last Friday just after 12.15pm at Thanet Street, Brooklyn Park, and shows the middle-aged man riding past 84-year-old grandmother Anh Huynh.
He can be seen grabbing one of Ms Huynh’s shopping bags, pulling her down the ground after him, before circling back around and making off with it.
Ms Huynh told 9 News that she was “okay now”, but still has a bump on her scalp where she struck the ground and was hesitant to walk the streets alone.
The suspect remains at large and was last seen riding towards Henley Beach Rd and then north on Holbrooks Rd, Underdale.
After the attack, tradesman Jesse Martin helped up Ms Huynh, telling 9 News that she appeared “distressed and probably quite concussed”.
“She was a little wobbly on her feet, and I had to stablise her on most of the walk back to her home,” Mr Martin said.
The cyclist is described as Caucasian, about 50 years old, wearing a blue striped shirt and black pants at the time of the attack.
He has a tattoo on the lower and upper areas of his left arm, and possibly another one on his lower right arm.
He was riding a black Merida bike with different rims on the front and back wheels.
Anyone who recognises the man or has any other information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers anonymously at www.crimestopperssa.com.au or on 1800 333 000, quoting reference #24-189M.
