Traffic chaos in Blackwood after truck-motorbike smash

A local man was rushed to hospital after a collision that caused peak-hour chaos on a busy road in the Adelaide foothills.

A motorbike rider suffered serious injuries in a collision with a truck at Blackwood on Thursday afternoon.

The crash on Shepherds Hill Rd at 3.30pm blocked traffic and caused peak-hour chaos.

The rider, a Blackwood man, 46, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The truck driver, 38, from Holden Hill, was uninjured.

Traffic was blocked for westbound traffic from the Blackwood roundabout for several hours but reopened about 9.15pm.

Major Crash Investigators attended the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.
