Three teens charged over Elizabeth Shopping Centre stabbing

Three teens – one aged just 14 – have been charged following a knife fight at the Elizabeth Shopping Centre that left a teenager fighting for life in hospital with serious stab wounds.

Three teens have been charged following a knife fight at a busy shopping centre that left a teenager in hospital with serious stab wounds.

Police were called to the Elizabeth Shopping Centre just after 2.30pm on Wednesday after a wild knife fight erupted in the food court.

During the altercation, an 18-year-old man was stabbed in the torso and was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital for emergency surgery, including a blood transfusion.

After the warring youths fled, police nearby arrested a 14-year-old boy, of Elizabeth Vale, another teen, 16, of Brahma Lodge and a third male, 17, from Salisbury East.

On Thursday morning, police confirmed they had all been charged.

The 14-year-old boy has been charged with affray while the 16 and 17-year-old boys were charged with assault causing serious harm and affray.

All three were refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court on Thursday.

The investigation into the incident is continuing as police review CCTV footage to identify other people involved in the incident.
