A third suspect at the centre of a police hunt after a shooting at Munno Para earlier this week has been arrested and is set to face court.
Police received calls regarding a disturbance between two groups of men on Stebonheath Rd – with witnesses allegedly hearing a gunshot, about 7.45pm on Monday.
Footage of the fight obtained by The Advertiser shows five to six people shoving and punching for about two minutes on the road before they split into two groups and leave.
Police soon recovered a firearm during a search at a Davoren Park home suspected of being involved in the incident.
Two men from Smithfield Plains – Tyler Jake Haywood, 21, and Andrew Paul McDonald, 44 – appeared via video link in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
Both men are yet to enter pleas to joint charges of aggravated affray and aggravated possessing a firearm without a licence and will be back in court later this month.
The third suspect – a 21-year-old man from Smithfield Plains – was arrested on Wednesday and charged with numerous offences including possessing a firearm without a licence, affray and breach of bail.
He was refused bail to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Thursday.
During a search of a Davoren Park home police recovered a firearm suspected of being involved in the incident, which will be forensically tested.
Police said the incident was not random and the men were known to each other.
