Taylor Swift wears SA’s Paolo Sebastian gown in latest video
Taylor Swift wearing an Australian designer gown in The Fate of Ophelia music video has Swifties predicting she will chose the King of Couture when she marries Travis Kelce.
Australian fashion royalty Paul Vasileff is officially the world’s King of Couture now that pop princess Taylor Swift is wearing one of his Paolo Sebastian gowns.
The global superstar dons a dress from the Adelaide fashion house’s A Lover’s Kiss collection in her video for The Fate of Ophelia.
The track is the opener on her new album The Life of a Showgirl.
And Swift appears to have taken her cue from the range’s campaign images.
While she has cast herself as Shakespeare’s tragic heroine – albeit as a woman reborn through love – Swift looks a lot like the model Valsileff chose to showcase the dress in the look book for A Lover’s Kiss.
When the images were shared to the Paolo Sebastian Instagram account commenters were quick to speculate Swift would wear one of Vasileff’s wedding gowns when she marries fiance Travis Kelce – just like Australian pop star Delta Goodrem did when she wed earlier this year.
“Low key hoping Taylor would choose Paolo Sebastian for her wedding dress,” one wrote.
“Now she just needs the wedding dress from the Scattered to the winds collection,” wrote another.”
When the range was released a year ago Vasileff said it was a tribute to some of the world’s greatest love stories, such as those told by Shakespeare.
“This collection isn’t about sugar-coated love stories but the ones that captivate and wrench at the heart,” he said. “It’s romance in its rawest form. Lovers who are willing to rise above opposing forces, do anything to be together – even die for each other.”
While you can’t check out The Fate of Ophelia video online yet, it is part of Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl “cinematic event” currently showing at the movies.
Swifties, who also happen to be Paolo Sebastian fans, have spotted the gown.
Patricia Abreu, whose Instagram account @taylor_homedecor has a following of close to 12,000, posted a still, snapped from the video, of Swift in the dress next to a campaign image of it.
Other stars to have worn Paolo Sebastian include Katy Perry, Kym Kardashian, Lucy Liu, Rebel Wilson and Delta Goodrem.
