St Kilda star forward Jack Higgins has doubled down on his contentious post-game comments when he declared he did not like Adelaide. Now, current and former Crows stars have weighed in.

Adelaide Crows clap back at Jack Higgins

A day after becoming SA’s public enemy number one, St Kilda star forward Jack Higgins has doubled down on his post-game comments when he declared he did not like Adelaide.

After the Saints win over the Power, former AFLW star Erin Phillips, Higgins was asked if he had any plans for his week in Adelaide.

“Ah no, I don’t like Adelaide so I’ll probably be in my room playing Call of Duty with the boys,” Higgins said.

Speaking to media on Monday night, the lively forward said he did not regret his comments and while he would take Premier Peter Malinauskas up on his offer of a tour of the state, he would probably stay confined to his hotel room.

But he did concede it was a flippant remark and said it was “tongue-in-cheek”.

“I don’t mind Adelaide, I just don’t love it,” he said.

I’ll definitely take the Premier up on a tour, probably drive in his nice little car – he can drive me around,“ Higgins said.

“Other than that, I’ll probably just stay in my hotel room.”

His dislike of Adelaide has earned Higgins some advice from SA born and based stars.

Former Crow turned national media personality Ryan Fitzgerald – who is a proud product of Adelaide southern suburbs had a suggestion.

“Tell him to catch a train to Noarlunga, we’ll sort him out from there,” he said.

And current Crows weighed in too.

Fan favourite forward Josh Rachele said Higgins could visit a lot of lovely beaches or wineries – a good suggestion given the temperature is set to be above 30 into the weekend.

“Maybe just hit up Hindley St after, when he’s finished,” Rachele added.

Midfield Sam Berry agreed and suggested he check out one of the many great wineries post-game.

“Go down to McLaren Vale or go up to the Barossa,” he said, while fellow midfielder Chayce Jones suggested “any of the beaches, any of the wineries”.

There’s some beautiful wineries up in the Hills,” he added.

Even comedian Aaron Gocs jumped to Adelaide’s defence, telling Higgins he should try the City of Churches’ 24-hour bakery scene.

Gocs described Cafe de Villis as his “favourite place in the world.”

But it was Crows star Darcy Fogarty who blasted Higgins the most.

“If he doesn’t like it, then I reckon he can bugger off pretty quick,” Fogarty said on Monday.

“He must not have spent too much time here, there’s so much to offer.”
