Driver and passenger dead after multi-vehicle crash at Old Calperum

Major Crash Officers will continue their investigations into a horror double fatal crash near Renmark on Monday afternoon.
Police and emergency services rushed to Sturt Highway at Old Calperum after reports of a crash between a car and truck, around 1.40pm.
A 53-year-old male driver and his 94-year-old male passenger, both from the Riverland, died at scene.
The truck driver was taken to Berri Hospital with minor injuries.
The highway at the intersection of the Old Sturt Hwy and Sturt Hwy roundabout and Stanitzki Rd was closed but reopened around midnight. Speed restrictions remain in place.
The driver and passenger’s death are the 30th and 31st lives lost on SA roads compared to 15 during the same time last year.
