The rescued traveller speaks out about the ‘scary’ ordeal, after police successfully rescued a group of four stranded by flood water as they travelled between South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Police have found four people, including a six-year-old boy, trapped in floodwater as they travelled between South Australiaand the Northern Territory, after a two-day search.
The group was located on Sunday after police announced the travellers went missing as they drove between South Australia and the Northern Territory.
After a two-day search, the group were found stuck between South Australia’s Oodnadatta and Finke in the Northern Territory – they were delivered food supplies.
One of the rescued travellers, Bridget Doolan told 9News about the ordeal.
“Two nights we camped in the car and the third day we started walking until we see the rescue plane dropping off more water,” she said.
“Yes it was scary, but we just keep praying and praying knowing that God will hear our prayers which he did.”
On Monday, police said they had been successful in their rescue efforts, with the group retrieved and transported to Coober Pedy, with no reports of injuries.
Since Sunday, police had maintained contact with the group overnight and rescue efforts to recover the people were launched on Monday.
Police had been searching by road and air for the lost black Holden Captiva car in the Far North since 4pm on Friday.
“Police have located a 40-year-old man, 21-year-old man, 36-year-old woman and six-year-old boy who had gone missing in the state’s Far North,” a police spokesperson said.
A police statement on Sunday said the group was provided with a phone and there did not appear to be any immediate welfare concerns.
The rescue was planned for Monday due to difficult conditions.
It comes as the Mount Dare Hotel posted to social media images of flooded roads in and out of Mount Dare after heavy rain.
“We are not going anywhere for a little while,” the hotel posted with the images of rivers for roads.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued warnings of possible flooding in the Northern Territory including the Simpson Desert, Barkly, Georgina River and Eyre Creek catchments.
Daily scattered rainfall totals of between 40-80mm were considered possible on Sunday and Monday, with isolated falls of more than 100mm across the Flood Watch area.
