Police investigate blaze at Elizabeth North Shopping Centre business

A suspicious fire damaged a shop within a northern suburbs centre early on Sunday, with police now investigating “human involvement”.

Police are investigating a suspicious blaze at a northern suburbs shopping centre.

Emergency services were called to the Elizabeth North Shopping Centre on Woodford Rd at about 1.40am, where they found a small fire at an abandoned store at the back of the property.

More than a dozen firefighters worked quickly to put out the fire but police said the store suffered “moderate damage”.

Fire Cause Investigators found the incident was sparked by “human involvement”.

Police are investigating.
