A 19-year-old man has died after a two-car smash on a major highway in the state’s north.

A 19-year-old, Stirling North man has died after a two-car crash this morning, about 20km south of Port Augusta.
Around 7.45am, emergency services were called to Horrocks Pass Rd, Winninowie, near Augusta Hwy after reports of a two-car crash.
The 19-year-old driver and only occupant in a Hyundai died at the scene.
A woman, 55, of Willowie was driving a Ford station wagon and was flown to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
Major Crash investigators are at the scene to determine the circumstances that led up to the crash.
The man’s death is the 17th life lost on our state’s roads this year, compared to 29 at this time last year.
Horrocks Pass Rd remains closed between Augusta Highway and Spear Creek Rd, and the intersection of Nectar Brook Rd and Horrocks Pass Rd.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.
