Man dies days after being hit by car on South Rd at Edwardstown

A 39-year-old man has died four days after he was struck by a car near a major shopping centre in Adelaide’s inner south.

A man has died four days after being struck by a car in Adelaide’s inner-southern suburbs.

Just before 11.15pm on Tuesday, emergency services were called to South Rd near Castle Plaza at Edwardstown after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a silver Mazda sedan.

The pedestrian, a 39-year-old man from Hackham West, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

On Saturday, at 9.20pm, SA Police issued a statement that the man had died.

He is the tenth person to die on South Australian roads so far this year.

The driver of the car, a 56-year-old man from Hallett Cove, was not injured.

Major Crash officers are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
