An injured paraglider spotted by another paraglider, prompting him to call triple-0 from the air, has been rescued 40 metres above the ground by emergency crews on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
The 35-year-old man was paragliding near Waitpinga on the Fleurieu Peninsula about 11am on Friday morning before he lost control and crashed into a cliff face.
Another paraglider reportedly spotted the man dangling from the cliff face, calling emergency services from the air.
He was dangling between 30-40 metres above the ground, before an MFS and special operations paramedic helped winch him to safety.
The rescue was a combined effort of the MFS, CFS, SES, SA Ambulance Service and SA Police.
He was pulled about seven metres to safety and suffered leg injuries, but was conscious during his recovery.
He was flown to Flinders Medical Centre for treatment.
