The Adelaide Crows’ win over North Melbourne wasn’t just enjoyed by the 46,511 fans that packed Adelaide Oval on Sunday, it also made an impression on one of the United States’ most popular comedians.
Shane Gillis made Aussie headlines in January after he was spotted sporting a cap emblazoned with the words “go crom”, a popular moniker that took off online in recent years following its use in memes.
The 37-year-old Netflix star followed that up on Sunday with a post to his over two million Instagram followers, celebrating as the Crows toppled the Kangaroos at Adelaide Oval.
“Crowboys by a milli,” Gillis wrote over a picture of the game playing on a phone.
The comedian has previously been spotted supporting South Aussie talent too.
In September, Adelaide Fringe performer James McCann shared a photo of himself next to the star – and members of the cast of Stranger Things – on Instagram.
The Advertiser has contacted Gillis to ask how he started to follow the Crows.
