The daughter of Munno Para shooting victim Troy Jacka, 53, has broken her silence, saying he died protecting his son.
Mr Jacka died late on Saturday night after allegedly being shot by a gun in his possession following an altercation at a house on Stebonheath Rd about 11pm.
According to SA Police, a struggle had occurred between two men at the house, after one of them made threats with a firearm.
His daughter, Thalia Jacka, told 9News her father would do anything for his five children, including giving his life that very night.
“My dad died protecting his son, like any father would,” she said.
Ms Jacka’s father and brother Jayden were allegedly ambushed by a group at the Smithfield Hotel earlier in the night.
As a result of investigations, police arrested two women and a man in relation to a report of a disturbance that occurred on the same night at the Smithfield Hotel on Main North Road, Smithfield.
A 21-year-old woman from Blakeview was arrested and charged with affray and act likely to cause harm, a 22-year-old woman from Munno Para West and a 31-year-old man from Campbelltown were both arrested and charged with affray.
The trio was served a three-month liquor licence barring order, excluding them from the hotel, and were bailed to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on September 9.
Police allege the disturbance is linked to the Munno Para West shooting incident.
No charges have been laid in relation to the actual shooting.
Witnesses also told 9News violence first erupted in the pub of the hotel before spilling out into the carpark.
The Smithfield Hotel on Main North Road declined to comment on Monday when asked by the Advertiser about the incident.
Ms Jacka alleges it was that incident at the Smithfield Hotel that prompted her father to go to the property on Stebonheath Rd.
“We’re all grieving in our own way, that we know how,” Ms Jacka said.
“I went to the crime scene myself to have it all sink but it hasn’t sunk in.”
She said they hoped justice would be served.
“Revenge is coming,” Ms Jacka said.
“It’s gonna happen, either the police do it or we’re gonna do it ourselves.
“It’s just how it’s gonna go.”
