A man has died at Adelaide Airport after reportedly choking on food before collapsing.

Emergency services were called to the incident at the airport’s main terminal just before 9pm on Monday.

The Advertiser understands there were heroic attempts by a member of the public, who cleared the 50-year-old man’s airways and used a defibrillator to try to save him, but he later died.

Western District police are preparing a report for the coroner but there are no suspicious circumstances.
