Man, 80, dies after three hospitalised in horror crash at Kudla, north of Adelaide

The passenger of a car involved in a two-car smash, which saw three people injured on Sunday, has died in hospital. Meanwhile, a 68-year-old man has died after a crash in the Hills.

An 80-year-old passenger has died after a two-car crash north of Adelaide saw three people rushed to hospital on Sunday.

Police and emergency services were called to the intersection of Angle Vale Rd and Stebonheath Rd, Kudla, to reports of a crash between a Ford SUV and a Hyundai sedan.

The occupants of the Hyundai, a 75-year-old woman and her 80-year-old male passenger from Waterloo Corner, together with the driver of the Ford, a 44-year-old Gawler West woman were taken to hospital for treatment.

However, the passenger of the Hyundai, died in hospital.

The driver of the Hyundai remains in hospital in a serious condition and the driver of the Ford was treated for minor injuries.

Police say Major Crash investigators will now examine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The man’s death is the 33rd life lost on South Australia’s roads this year.

It follows the death of a 68-year-old man who died after crashing into a tree in the Adelaide Hills on Monday evening.

Police were called to Kavanagh Rd in Echunga after reports a car slammed into a tree just before 5.30pm. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, but the man, of Lower Mitcham, died at the scene.

And on Sunday, a 59-year-old Sedan man died at the scene after a horror head-on crash between two cars and a truck in the state’s Mid Murray area.

A 33-year-old Salisbury Plain truck driver and a 69-year-old Meadows man were both flown to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The truck driver was later arrested and charged with causing death by dangerous driving and causing harm by dangerous driving.
