An Adelaide football and cricket umpire who admitted hoarding child exploitation material has pleaded guilty to pursuing, menacing, harassing and soliciting girls under 16 for sex.

In the District Court on Wednesday, former SANFL and SACA umpire Brett Daniel Allford hung his head as he pleaded guilty to 14 offences against nine girls committed between 2021 and 2022.

He also pleaded guilty to working with those organisations despite already being a registered sex offender, to lying about his status and not reporting to authorities as required.

Allford, 40, of Edwardstown, pleaded guilty to using Snapchat and Instagram to solicit child abuse material.

He was subsequently charged with undertaking child-related work despite being banned from doing so, and with lying to authorities about it over a two-year period.

Prosecutors, meanwhile, said they would lay charges relating to “at least” 12 further complainants.

On Wednesday, prosecutors asked Allford’s previous pleas be struck out, saying he had agreed to plead guilty to a “comprehensive” list of charges encompassing all his criminal acts.

Allford then pleaded guilty to one count of possessing or controlling child abuse material using a carriage service, and three counts of using the service for sex with a person under 16.

He also pleaded guilty to five counts of causing abuse material to be transmitted to himself by his victims, and three counts of soliciting material from them.

Allford pleaded guilty to two counts of using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend his victims, and three counts of undertaking child-related work while banned.

He also pleaded guilty to six counts of failing to comply with reporting obligations and two counts of furnishing false information in regard to those obligations.

Allford was remanded in custody to face court again in March.
