A fire in McLaren Flat is under investigation after tearing through a shed and machinery causing around $750k in damages.

A fire is under investigation after tearing through a shed in McLaren Flat on Saturday morning.

Emergency services were called to McLaren Flat Rd on Saturday about 12.15am after receiving reports of a large shed fire.

When CFS arrived at the scene, the shed was fully alight with around 40 firefighters, six trucks, two bulk water carriers and a command car working to extinguish the blaze.

The fire was brought under control in just under two hours.

However, the shed of the roof collapsed and damaged heavy machinery located inside.

Damage costs are estimated to be more than $750,000.

Fire Cause Investigators were called and attended the scene in the morning to determine the cause of the blaze.
