Two global fast food giants are set to launch new restaurants on the same site in Adelaide’s northwestern suburbs.
A development application has been lodged with the City of Port Adelaide Enfield for the construction of new McDonald’s and KFC restaurants, side-by-side at Mansfield Park.
The site earmarked for the development is empty land at 418-424 Grand Junction Rd near the Mansfield Park Hotel.
The land has been vacant since about 2004 where the previous industry use ceased operating and was then demolished.
The development applications details the closest dwellings adjacent to the site are homes on Richard St, which form part of The Parks Retirement Village’.
The proposed restaurants have been designed with an integrated design, sharing accesses at Grand Junction Rd and Richard St and a shared carparking layout.
The McDonald’s and KFC restaurants would each have drive-through facilities, allowing the queuing of at least 14 and 12 vehicles from their pick-up windows.
The application was submitted March 7 and the planning consent is currently under assessment, before the developer can move to seek building consent.
