The Cafe de Vili’s at Blair Athol will remain open after the parent company stepped in to take over from a franchisee.
There had been fears it would shut after the franchisee put a sign outside the business saying it had ceased trading.
However, a spokesman for Vili’s said management had taken over to avoid the outlet going into administration.
“A franchisee of Café De Vili’s, Galaxy Blue Pty Ltd, has ceased operating the Café De Vili’s business at Blair Athol and Vili’s management will now operate this business moving forward,” he said.
“The operations of the other Café de Vili’s businesses are not affected by this change.”
The other Vili’s cafes are at Mile End, Hillcrest and Elizabeth.
