Grassfire burning near Robe, on Limestone Coast in SA’s lower South-East, warning downgraded
The CFS has downgraded its warning for residents near Robe on the Limestone Coast, after a grassfire began burning out of control on Tuesday afternoon.

The CFS has downgraded its previous “leave now” warning for Robe, on the state’s Limestone Coast, after a grassfire began burning out of control, about 6km southeast of the beachside town.
Residents in the affected area have now been told to “take care in the area”, as the threat of the fire reduced.
“Smoke will reduce visibility in the area and there is a risk of falling trees and branches,” the alert issued at 4.36pm read.
Just before 2.50pm, a Watch and Act – Leave Now message was issued, after fears the grassfire was threatening life and/or property.
The CFS said the fire was burning in a north-easterly direction towards Southern Ports Highway, Old Naracoorte Road.
There were 40 fire fighters battling the blaze with 12 trucks and three aircraft, including firebombers and observational aircraft, at the height of the blaze
The fire burnt more than 36ha of scrubland and caused smoke to drift over the area.
Locals and motorists were also urged to stay away from the area, while emergency services work on and around the roads.
