Beach house destroyed as two-storey inferno causes $800,000 damage at Goolwa South

A two-storey beach house was completely engulfed in flames overnight – causing an estimated damage bill of more than $800,000 – as firefighters rushed to save neighbouring properties.

A two-storey beach house was completely gutted by a fierce fire on Wednesday night, causing a huge damage bill.

The alarm was first raised just after 11.30pm on Tuesday after reports of a fire at the home on Fairway Court in Goolwa South.

Nine CFS firefighting crews arrived to find house full alight, and quickly worked to extinguish the blaze and save surrounding properties.

Firefighters remained at the scene for several hours, working to extinguish the blaze and ensuring the area was safe.

The two-storey house suffered an estimated damage bill of more than $800,000.

SA Police and SA Ambulance are also on scene.

Fire investigators will also go to the scene on Wednesday morning.
